UNIVERSITY PARK -- The State College Spikes brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth inning, but could not overcome a late deficit as they took a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Monday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
