Coroner IDs body found at Clearfield Co. park

UPDATE | Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer-Snyder has released the identity of the individual whose body was found at a local park earlier this week. The coroner's office says the body of 40-year-old Edward Schmidt was found Tuesday afternoon at Woodland Park. An autopsy is being conducted Thursday but authorities believe that Schmidt died as a result of a drug overdose. Shaffer-Snyder says Schmidt's official cause of death is pending the results of the autopsy and a toxicology report. Read More...

Local gym offers new workout experience

A locally owned gym is offering a new workout experience in Cambria County. The Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Wednesday at Morgainz Fitness in West Hills where the gym just opened Morgainz Elite Cycle, which they describe as Johnstown’s "premier spin studio", offering state-of-the-art indoor bikes. Officials said several different types of classes are available, varying from drop-in rates to class packages. PSU athletics reports 'record' spending & revenue

University Park, PA (WJAC) — A newly released financial report from the Penn State Athletic Department shows "record numbers" for both revenue and spending for Nittany Lion athletics. The new report is for the previous fiscal year- July 2022 through June of 2023. Penn State reports total revenue for athletics just over $202 million. Football generated over half that amount, at almost $110 million in revenue. But Penn State is also reporting that athletic department expenditures are almost the same as revenue, at just over $202 million. Read More...
