UPJ claims 24th NCAA Regional Wrestling Title

JOHNSTOWN, PA (WJAC) - Pitt-Johnstown hosted the NCAA Division II Super I Region Saturday where the Mountain Cats claimed their 24th Regional Title. Six UPJ wrestlers qualified for nationals and three won championships. Head coach Pat Pecora was named by the National Wrestling Coaches Association as the 2021-22 NCAA Division II Super I Region Coach of the Year for the 20th time in his 46-year career. Chicago Group Core Spaces Purchases Sixth Building, Plans for Seventh in State College

STATE COLLEGE/CENTRE COUNTY, Pa — With the recent purchase of Park Hill Apartments in State College, Core Spaces now owns six downtown apartment buildings. Core Spaces has now shelled out over $100 million dollars on State College apartment buildings, and they also have plans to build a seventh. Since late 2019, Chicago-based group Core Spaces LLC has been busy in Centre County: on top of Park Hill, they also purchased Alexander Court, Beaver Hill, Cedarbrook, Garner Court and The Diplomat, according to the Borough. Curve drop season opener to New Hampshire

Altoona, PA (WJAC) — The Altoona Curve began its 25th season Thursday against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The team’s general manager says the fan support is what has allowed the team to make it this long. He says former players will be coming back throughout the year to celebrate the milestone season, starting with Brad Eldred for opening night. The GM also noted that work has been done to the left field party deck and, later in the year, different inflatables will be added to the kids’ zone, as well as several upgrades to facilities for players.
