Former Virginia EDA director sentenced to 14 years for stealing over $5 million

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WSET) — The former executive director of the Economic Development Authority of Front Royal and Warren County (EDA), who was convicted in November of last year of stealing more than $5.2 million in authority funds, was sentenced today to 14 years in federal prison. Jennifer Rae McDonald, 45, of Front Royal, was convicted following a 9-week jury trial in November 2023 of seven counts of wire fraud, six counts of bank fraud, sixteen counts of money laundering, and one count of aggravated identity theft. Mississippi prosecutor's office, tobacco shop raided by FBI agents

JACKSON, Miss. (TND) — Multiple properties utilized by a Mississippi district attorney were raided by FBI agents Wednesday, according to the FBI Jackson Field Office. Agents raided both Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owen's office and the Downtown Cigar Company, a tobacco shop and lounge in Jackson. The shop is managed by Owens and underwent its annual report Monday, according to a review of Mississippi Secretary of State's Office records. Read More...
